Description  Teide stratovolcano is the highest elevation of Spain and the islands of the Atlantic (it is the third largest volcano in the world from its base). The summit is characterized by a weak fumarolic activity with a temperature of about 83ºC. Its proximity to population centres has led the volcano to be designated a Decade Volcano.

Access to the summit of Teide will be done by cable car, which stops at a height of 3550m. You will need to walk for the last 200m. Beware, 3550m is kind of high and some people might suffer from the rarefaction of oxygen. Participants should bring walking boots, a hat and sun protection.

From the summit of Teide, a panoramic view of Cañadas Caldera, NW and NE volcanic rifts, and Tenerife Island can be seen. If the meteorological conditions are excellent, participant will be able also to see La Palma, Gomera, EL Hierro, and Gran Canaria islands.
