| Description |
This
session
provides a platform to share experience, results and developments
related to the use of satellite remote sensing techniques for volcano
understanding and monitoring. We especially solicit contributions from
the InSAR, GPS, Spectroscopy and Imaging community focusing on new
scientific achievements and the operational use of Earth observation
data. Presentations related to technological advancements and
integration of space based, air based and ground based techniques are
very welcome to this topical session.
Highlights of this session will
be related to
| • |
volcano
process observation by use of satellite data such as ENVISAT, ERS,
TerraSAR-X, ALOS, COSMO-SkyMed, GOME, AVHRR among others, |
| • |
time series generation, achievements and
perspectives, |
| • |
data interpretation, model simulation
advancements and results, |
| • |
remotely sensed hazard assessment and risk
reduction, |
| • |
Ash impact loss-damage functions for risk
calculation. |
| • |
cross-border and multi-hazard analysis. |
The
topics may hence include a broad spectrum related to satellite remote
sensing techniques, specifically current projects and perspectives,
science advances, integration of independent data, model simulation and
inversion, and data and information distribution policies as well as
capacity building. |
