Description
One of the benefits of living close to volcanoes is the possibility of efficient use of geothermal energy associated with these volcanic active areas. As a renewable energy source, geothermal production provides clean energy suitable for reducing the demand for external fossil fuels and is a perfect addition to other clean and renewable energy sources. This is a particularly interesting issue for communities on isolated volcanic island.
This session will focus on the development of geothermal energy projects in volcanic environments; from early exploration through production, including aspects like institutional and public support, environmental protection, and different views of the sustainability of the geothermal resources.
