November 23, 2007:
Decision to hold CoV6 in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) made by the Cities and Volcanoes Commission at the CoV5 meeting in Shimabara (Japan).

March 2008:
The educational program "Canaries: a volcanic window in the Atlantic" related to volcanoes and volcanic risk management for a general audience is weekly travelling through all the 88 municipalities of the Canary Islands since March 2008 up today. Two of the three educational units of this program are the IAVCEI and UNESCO videotapes Understanding Volcanic Hazards and Reducing Volcanic Risk. This educational program registered around 3.000 participants during 2008 and about 4.300 participants during 2009; a 43% of audience increase!

October 5, 2008:
The radio program PLANETA VIVO, a joint effort of ITER and the Spanish National Public Radio (RNE) co-financed by Spanish Science and Technology Foundation (FECYT), is weekly broadcasting for the Canary Islands through Radio5 station and for the world through REE station since October 5, 2009, up today. This educational radio program was born to commemorate the International Year of the Earth Planet and the forthcoming CoV6 meeting at Tenerife. Several volcano reports and interviews are weekly broadcasting through PLANETA VIVO.

October 28, 2008:
The Cities and Volcanoes Commission approve the suggestion of CoV6 organizers to move CoV6 from November 16-20, 2009, to May 31-June 4, 2010.

December 31, 2008:
First circular and homepage for CoV6_Tenerife 2010 officially opened.

January 7, 2009:
Pre-registration started. Please pre-register by sending an e-mail to cov6-tenerife2010@citiesonvolcanoes6.com to receive future information about CoV6_Tenerife 2010.

October 23, 2009:
The television program TELEPLANETA, a join effort of ITER and the Spanish National Public Television (TVE), is weekly broadcasting through Canal 24 Horas (24 Hour Channel), the Spain's first news and information channel, since October 23, 2009, up today. This breaking news program related to volcanic hazards as well as other natural hazards in the world was born to commemorate the International Year of Planet Earth and the forthcoming CoV6 meeting at Tenerife.

November 16-20, 2009:
“International Volcanological Symposium CHINYERO 2009” was celebrated to commemorate the 100 aniversary of the last eruption at Tenerife Island (Chinyero volcano, 1909) and their participants came from Mexico, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Cape Verde, Nicaragua and Philippines.

December 31, 2009:
Second circular for CoV6-Tenerife 2010 will be issued.

December 31, 2009:
Open abstract submission.

January 31, 2010:
Deadline for travel grant application and early registration (lower fees).

Febraury 28, 2010:
Deadline for abstract submission.

March31, 2010:
Final CoV6_Tenerife 2010 program will be available in the web www.citiesonvolcanoes6.com


April 15, 2010:
Dead line for registration payment for activities and field trips.

May 24 to 30, 2010:
CoV6_Tenerife 2010 pre-meeting activities

May 31 to June 4, 2010:
CoV6-Tenerife 2010 will be held at Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain)

June 7 to 13, 2010:
